The Boot Hill Crooners are an alt folk trio from Sault Ste Marie Ontario. The brothers, Sheldon and Marshall Jaaskelainen, established the band in early 2007 and have performed countless events throughout Canada and regions of the United States since.
Their sound is an acoustic driven, high energy variety of original songs and covers drawing from the folk, bluesgrass and east coast traditions.
Fiddle, rock-a-billy upright bass, banjo, guitar, harmonica, percussion and vocal harmony are all used during a performance. The trio often feature the talents of other great musicians during live performances.
Electric guitarist Dave Bahun of the Inner City Surfers, the terrific banjo abilities of Tyler Marshall and the mandolin and vocal harmonies of Frank Deresti add additional dimensions to recordings and live performances.
